I’m constantly trying out new sunscreens, but which ones do I actually use up completely? Here’s a look at my recent empties, from face to lips.
Round Labs Sunscreen Stick: Perfect for Lips
Sunscreen sticks are great, but remember to apply multiple layers and rub them in. I’ve been using the Round Labs sunscreen stick as an SPF lip balm, and it’s excellent. It’s moisturizing and hydrating, with juvenal T150, juvenal A+, and tinosorb S as active ingredients. It also contains niacinamide, a B vitamin that’s anti-inflammatory and good for redness, dark spots, and the moisture barrier. Plus, it has peptides which may aid in healing and recovery. This stick glides on smoothly and isn’t stiff like some other formulas. I bought mine on Stylevana, but you can also find it on Amazon. As a side note, the Round Labs Birch Juice sunscreen cream is also fantastic.
L’Oreal Bright Reveal Sunscreen: A Lightweight Choice for Face
This is a chemical sunscreen that’s lightweight, fluid, and non-greasy. It includes resorcinol, an antioxidant that can be helpful for hyperpigmentation. However, if you’re prone to hyperpigmentation, a tinted sunscreen with iron oxides might be a better choice for visible light protection. This L’Oreal sunscreen is ideal for acne-prone skin and works well under makeup. It’s also fragrance-free and doesn’t sting around the eyes. It does contain alcohol denaturant, which can be drying for some, but I didn’t experience that.
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Moisturizing Face Serum: Water-Resistant and Hydrating
This water-resistant sunscreen is similar in consistency to the L’Oreal one – lightweight, fluid, and hydrating. It’s a great option if you’re sensitive to niacinamide, as it doesn’t contain any. Neutrogena Invisible Daily is another very similar option, with a slight peachy tint. Both are water-resistant and offer SPF 60 protection.
EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46: Tinted Protection
The EltaMD UV Clear in the Deep tint offers SPF 46 protection. It’s a hybrid sunscreen with zinc oxide and octinoxate. The deep tint gives my skin a sun-kissed look, almost like I’m wearing sunless tanner. It also contains niacinamide, which is beneficial for redness and hyperpigmentation. While it’s not water-resistant, the iron oxides in the tint provide protection against visible light, making it a good choice for those with melasma or acne-prone skin.
Neutrogena Hydroboost Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer with Sunscreen: Hydrating Gel Formula
This SPF 50 sunscreen is a fragrance-free, lightweight hydrating gel with hyaluronic acid. It’s a chemical sunscreen, so there’s no white cast, and it’s suitable for sensitive eyes and works well under makeup. It’s a good option for oily skin as it’s not greasy. While not water-resistant, it’s great for daily use.
Bullfrog SPF 50 Quick Gel: Perfect for Summer Activities
This is my go-to sunscreen for swimming and outdoor activities. It dries quickly, is clear and colorless, and offers excellent protection in humid and sweaty conditions. It does have a light citrus fragrance, but it doesn’t linger. Be aware that it can peel if applied over a thick moisturizer. It’s a chemical sunscreen and is water-resistant for 80 minutes.
Conclusion
Finding the right sunscreen is crucial for protecting your skin. Whether you need a lip balm, a lightweight formula for daily wear, or a water-resistant option for outdoor activities, there’s a sunscreen out there for everyone. I hope this overview of my recent empties helps you find your perfect match.
